The Basement

The Basement comes almost fully framed, wired and plumbed; drywall isn’t far away. Included are two bedrooms (or bedroom and office) with generous closet space, a full bathroom, and a kitchenette (adding the appropriate wiring for an oven would be easy at this stage), a home theatre (ideally situated with no windows), and lots of dedicated storage and equipment space. Oh, and an enormous cold cellar.

The plan shown here is lacking only a decision on how to conceal the two support posts that separate the living room from the gym / play area. It is suggested that a feature wall incorporates a gas or electric fireplace would be ideal; propane lines and tie-in with the existing main floor fireplace may enable this.

The current owner will be happy to consult on quickly and efficiently finishing the infrastructure to ensure that the basement is finished in a manner consistent with the rest of the home; thinking primarily of in-ceiling audio, network cabling, and home automation system integration (most of which is already in place and/or included). Before finishing, it would be easy to run speaker wires to provide outdoor audio to the back patio.
